Tracey Kagan is a single mother of three daughters, a Criminal Defense Attorney of 30 years, and currently, the Democratic Candidate for Florida House District 29.
Raised by educators from New York, Tracey went on to work as a public defender and after relocating to Florida, served as a State Attorney in Seminole County. She chose Seminole County for its renowned public schools and natural beauty. In 2018, in response to the tragedy of Stoneman Douglas, she took her three daughters to South Florida and marched with thousands in solidarity.
Returning home, she learned that her State Representative's solution was to arm the teachers. Galvanized to action, Tracey ran in 2018 against a three-time Republican incumbent and lost by a razor-thin margin of 1%.
But Tracey is a fighter, and she's running again in 2020 to finish the job and flip District 29 in order to protect healthcare, public education, and the safety of our children. Her skillset, along with her determination to fight for the rights of people, will provide the leadership that is so lacking in Tallahassee.
“I’m here to protect our children’s future. It’s time to give them hope —
and back it up with action.”
